Even though Lalique has diversified into fine jewellery, art, interior decoration and perfume, we mustn't forget that decorative objects in crystal have always been the core business for the house of Lalique.
Vases, bowls, statuettes, boxes, bottles and animal figurines, as well as fine glassware make up the essential part of the production from the facility in wingen-sur-moder in alsace.
When he decided to leave fine jewellery, rené Lalique naturally turned to glass which he had already used in some of his jewellery designs. At the time – 1909 – he rented the combs-la-ville glassworks and began by producing perfume bottles for the major perfumers before moving on to decorative objects.
His powerful imagination led to the design of a variety of different pieces: Vases, bowls, statuettes, animals, clocks, boxes, bottles, glasses and carafes which he created from glass at the wingen-sur-moder plant starting in 1921.
Today, Lalique perpetuates this tradition with crystal productions of either pieces originally designed by rené, marc or marie-claude Lalique, or new pieces from the Lalique design studio.
Each year, we release two collections of over ten pieces to constantly renew our offer to our loyal Lalique customers.
The entire Lalique work is inspired from the themes that were dear to rené Lalique, in other words, women, flora and fauna. Plus, artistic trends like art nouveau and art déco heavily contributed to the development of the very distinctive Lalique style.
Lalique is essentially the bold combination of a material with seasoned know-how.
Thanks to the contrast between transparency and satin finishing, the crystal comes to life and becomes expressive; it joyfully catches shadow and light to offer endless nuances and depth.
All of the decorative objects are exclusively handmade by master glass makers in the studios in alsace and reflect the perfection of the art of crystal making.
